  • Day 01: Delhi - Rishikesh

    Highlights: Ganga Aarti.

    Destination: Rishikesh  (260 KM)

    Arrivals at the airport, get assistance and start your journey to Rishikesh via Haridwar.

    Haridwar: Haridwarlies in the foot of Shivaliks, in the Haridwar district of Uttarakhand,. Suryavanshi prince Bhagirath performed penance here to salvage the souls of his ancestors who had perished due to the curse of sage Kapila. The penance was answered and the river Ganga trickled from Lord Shiva's locks and its bountiful water revived the 60,000 sons of King Sagara. Devout Hindus stand in the sacred waters here and pray for salvation of their ancestors. It is doorway to the sources of Ganga and Yamuna, 3000 to 4500 meters up into the snowy ranges of the central Himalaya. The 'Aarti' worship of the Ganga after sunset and the floating 'dia' (lamp) is a moving ritual.

    Reach Rishikesh check-in at Narayan Palace / The Great Ganga / similar and rest, in the evening visit Haridwar, attend Ganga Aarti in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 02: Rishikesh - Guptkashi

    Destination: Guptkashi  (210 KM)

    This will be a relatively longer day. Early morning after breakfast, drive to Guptkashi. Once you reach Guptkashi you’ll check in at Camp Nirvana / similar followed by dinner and night stay.

    Travel time: 7 – 8 hours.

  • Day 03: Guptkashi – Kedarnath – Guptkashi (by helicopter) – Joshimath (by road).

    Highlights: Darshan and pooja at Kedarnath Ji.

    Destination: Joshimath  (170 KM)

    Early morning drive to Guptkashi, board your helicopter to Kedarnath. Carry personal medicines, heavy woolens, toiletries. After darshan and pooja fly back to Guptkashi Heli Pad, later drive to Joshimath via Rudraprayag. Arrival at Joshimath and check-in at Himalayan Abode / Auli D / similar for overnight stay.

    Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva, the protector and the destroyer. According to a legend, the Pandavas after having won over the Kauravas in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in form of a bull. On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as Panch Kedar.

  • Day 04: Joshimath - Badrinath Ji - Rudraprayag.

    Highlights: Badrinath temple darshan.

    Destination: Rudraprayag  (150 KM)

    Early morning drive to Badrinath; on arrival visit the Badrinath Temple. Badrinath one of the Chaar Dham' is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries. Thus the place got the name "Badri van", meaning "forest of berries". After Badrinath Darshan and Pooja drive Back to Rudraprayag and check-in at Mandakini / Monal Resort / similar for overnight stay.

    Travel time: 4- 5 hours.

  • Day 05: Rudraprayag – Delhi

    Highlights: Visit temples of Haridwar.

    Destination: Delhi  (390 KM)

    Early morning drive back to Delhi via Haridwar. If time apermits visit the following: Har-ki-Pauri, Chandi Devi & Mansa Devi Temple, Daksha Mahadev Temple, Bilkeshwar Mahadev, Anandmai Ashram, Pawan Dham, Bhooma Niketan, Vaishno Devi Temple, Doodhadhari Temple & Bharat Mata Mandir. Travel time: 8 – 9 hours.

Tips, Hints, Precautions

    • While visitng Hindu mythological sites, shrines and temples, one should remove shoes and cover head with a piece of cloth before entering the Holy Place.

    • Carry heavy woolen clothes to protect yourself from cold weather during the month of October-November and carry moderate woolen during summers.

    • Carry woolen clothes and blanket, an umbrella, raincoat, torch,minimum luggage and canvas shoes with you.

    • Carry creams, moisturizers, sunscreen.

    • Pack a medical kit with painkillers, antibiotics, cough lozenges,antiseptic cream, iodine, tube-squeeze cream and medicines for cold and fever.

    • Carry your routine medicines, as you might find only limited and general medicine at such remote locations.

    • Carry dark chocolates, dry fruits, Glucose (Glucon D), toffees to ensure enough calorie intake at high altitude.

    • Do not take pictures if cameras are not allowed in any particular area.

    • Carry extra batteries and films for your camera, as electricity is not regular in remote places.
