Description

Hampta Pass is one of the most delightful trek in the Manali region. This trek takes you over the majestic foothills of the Himalayas, the Pir Panjal Range, crossing at Hampta Pass (4270m) to reach remote. Hampta pass offers scenic views of lush green valleys, towering snow-clad mountains and hills. Leaving the Manali valley, the trek proceeds through forests of walnut, oak, the occasional alder and meadows to reach the base camp of Deo Tibba.

Itinerary

  • Day 01: Overnight bus from Delhi to Manali (1900m).

    With day one of this beautiful expedition, you will board Himachal Pradesh tourism’s Volvo buses from Delhi to Manali. Board the bus from Himachal Bhavan around 7:00pm to reach Manali early in the morning.

    Day 02: Arrive Manali. Sightseeing and acclimatization walks.

    As you touches Manali by 10am. You’ll be received by the guide who’ll transfer you to the Hotel. Post lunch, you can occupy yourself with local sightseeing. Explore the Mall road of Manali in the evening. Its end of day two with a stay in hotel.

    Day 03: Trek to Sarotu Thach (2985m).

    After an early breakfast you drive to Jagatsukh village the start point of your trek where you’ll meet the other team members (Cook and the Horsemen/Porters). The trek starts from Jagatsukh going uphill all the way to Sarotu Thach via Bhanara Village. The trail leads through beautiful Pine woods and green meadows. After a treat of mesmerizing views your day halts with camping. 

    Day 04: Trek to Lamadug (3000 m).

    Today the trail goes uphill once again and once you cross the stream the route eases and gets quite gradual till you reach a clearing called Jogidug – a holy place. A little uphill from there takes you to your camp at Lamadug. There are some astonishing views of the Kullu/Beas Valley and also snow capped mountains and peaks of the Pir Panjal range of the Himalaya.

    Day 05: Trek to Raori Kholi (3300m).

    With new morning it’s a new day, as you proceed to camp Raori Kholi and it’s not very long, but after you camp one can go for a nice walk around the camp exploring the sprawling meadows which is the grazing land for horses and sheep. It’s time to see off day five with a night at camp. 

    Day 06: Trek to Pyangneru; the Base of Deo Tibba (3500m).

    Today you start with an easy ascent till the majestic Deo Tibba and Indrasan become visible. From there you start a gradual descent into the Deo Tibba valley. As you descend you walk through trails filled with rhododendrons, silver birch and scented junipers. You descend to Alain River, cross it and set up camp at Pyangneru (the base of Deo Tibba). You could go ahead on an excursion to the snout of the Deo Tibba Glacier from where Alain River flows out. Now that’s quite a lot for today’s adventure, as your cozy beds in your camps are waiting for you.

    Day 07: Trek to Chikka (3140m).

    As you welcome day seven you start your day with a trek to Chikka– a beautiful meadow beside the Hampta River. Sleep tight! Its camping time.

    Day 08: Trek to Jobri Nala & drive to Manali. Evening Bus to Delhi.

    With a new day you’ll begin trekking to Jobri Nala (Jobri is a dam site around 20 Kms from Manali). Once you reach there, its time for some refreshments followed by a drive to Manali.  In the evening you say good bye to Manali and board the Volvo bus to reach Delhi early in the morning.

    Day 09: Arrive Delhi early morning.

    With countless refreshing memories and trip to cherish. You’ll reach Delhi early in the morning.

  • • We advice that you should carry medicines for vomiting/diarrhea, body ache, headache and general pain relieving balm.

    • Glucon D/ electral powder and camphor or any other ORS of your choice.

  • Q:  I have never been on a trek before. Can I still come? Will I be able to complete the trek?

  • A: All trekkers are welcome. Just ensure that you are in good physical shape (comfortable walking for 4-5 hours in a day).
