  • Day 01: NJP Station / Bagdogra (IXB) Airport - Phuensholing

    Destination: Phuensholing  (167 KM)

    Meet & greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport & transfer to Phuentsholing - The Gateway of Bhutan by Road from India. Phuensholing is a small border town with a small beautiful market in vincinity. Feel free to explore on your own and get ready for the beautiful himalayan drive to Thimphu next day.

  • Day 02: Phuentsholing - Thimpu

    Destination: Thimpu  (164 KM)

    After breakfast, head to immegration office to complete the formalities. Although, Indians do not require visa, but an entry permit is needed to enter Bhutan. Road trip from Phuensholing to Thimpu is long, approximately five to six hours, but it is so beautiful and scenic that you do not feel the stress. There are plently of stops along the way to stretch your legs and get something to eat. Check into your hotel and relax. You can also take an orientation walk into town before dinner.

  • Day 03: Thimphu Sightseeing

    Highlights: Tashichho Dzong, Changangkha Monastery, National Memorial Chorten, National Library & Buddha Point

    Destination: Thimphu 

    After breakfast, start your day early and begin a steep, hour-long climb to Cheri Goemba, a monastery established in 1620. Hike another hour up to Tango Goemba, a Buddhist institute for higher learning originally founded in the 12th century. After lunch you'll proceed to Zorig Chusum commonly known as 'the painting school'. The craft demonstrations are a photographers' dream and it's hard not to be impressed with the skill and discipline of the young students. The showroom sells good-value pieces made by students. Evening is reserved to visit Hong Kong market. Overnight stay and dinner will be at the hotel.

  • Day 04: Thimphu - Punakha

    Highlights: Chimi Lakhang & Punakha Dzong

    Destination: Punakha  (86 KM)

    After breakfast start your journey to Punakha. Reaching Punakha, you'll visit Chimi Lakhang - a small but famous temple in the center of the golden Punakha Valley. It stands on a round hillock built in 1499 after the maverick saint Drukpa Kunley, also known as "Divine Madman". Drukpa Kunley was also known as the "Mad Saint" or “Divine Madman” for his unorthodox ways of teaching Buddhism by singing, humour and outrageous behaviour, which amounted to being bizarre, shocking and with sexual overtones. Later, explore the elaborately fortress of Punakha Dzong guarding the southern end of the valley at the confluence of the Pho (male) and Mo (female) Rivers and making this dzong one of the most beautiful in the country.

  • Day 05: Punakha - Phobjikha

    Highlights: Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten

    Destination: Phobjikha  (75 KM)

    After breakfast you'll leave for Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten stands out on a beautiful ridge above the Punakha valley. It is a fine example of Bhutanese architecture and artistic traditions. This temple has been dedicated for the well being of the kingdom and its people. It is a 15-20 mins hike from the suspension bridge. The Chorten would take a one-hour hike to approach. It offers a beautiful view of the Punakha Valley. After you descent the car will take you back to the hotel. Evening is free to explore Phobjikha on your own.

  • Day 06: Phobjikha - Gangtey Valley

    Highlights: Khewa Valley, Gangtey Goemba

    Destination: Gangtey Valley 

    After breakfast, an exciting day awaits you. Your day starts with a visit to Khewa Valley village, where you'll visit an old temple and make an offering. After that you'll visit Gangtey Goemba, much of the goemba was restored recently. You'll walk through the village next to the goemba into the valley passing farms and pine forest.  After walk, your car will be waiting for you and you'll be driven to Gangtey Valley.

  • Day 07: Gangtey Valley - Paro

    Highlights: Hiking, Dochu La pass

    Destination: Paro 

    After breakfast set off on a half-day hike to near by villages, stopping to meet a family at a local farmhouse along the way. By evening you'll drive to Paro via Dochu La pass. With its circular formation of 108 chortens set against a panoramic backdrop of majestic mountains, the pass is both awe-inspiring and spiritual. Reach Paro bt evening check into the hotel and rest.

  • Day 08: Paro - Haa Valley

    Highlights: Chelela Pass, Lhakhang Nagpo, Lhakhang Karpo

    Destination: Haa Valley  (65 KM)

    After breakfast drive to the Haa Valley, one of the most remote and sacred valleys in Bhutan, via the Chelela Pass. En route, hike to Kila Goempa Nunnery, which clings to a rocky cliff. Drive to the valley and visit Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple), and Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple).

  • Day 09: Haa Valley - Paro

    Highlights: National Museum, Rinpung Dzong

    Destination: Paro  (65 KM)

    After breakfast you'll leave for Paro. After reaching Paro you'll visit National Museum, housed in an old watchtower near the Rinpung Dzong. Go back in time and witness centuries old collection of thangkas, old statues and other artifacts. Evening is free to explore Paro on your own.

  • Day 10: Paro Sightseeing

    Highlights: Kichu Lhakhang, Tigers Nest, Drugyel Dzong

    Destination: Paro 

    After breakfast you'll leave for Kyichu Lhakhang, the seventh-century temple which is also considered the oldest monastery in Bhutan. Now you are all set to visit one of the most holy places which every bhutanese should visit once in their lifetime, set out on a steep hike of 5-6 hours to Taktsang Palphug Monastery, also known as Tigers Nest. It clings to a vertical granite cliff nearly 3,000 feet above the valley floor. Take a deep breath, relax and trek at your own pace. The beginning is like a walk in the woods. Approximately 1/2 of the way up there is a cafeteria where you can stop for a snack, bathroom, rest. Throughout the way you are rewarded with some amazing views. After this spritual treat if time and energy permits you'll be visiting Drukgyal Dzong a fortress and Buddhist monastery, now in ruins, located in the upper part of the Paro.

The hotel/rooms will have all the essentials like a Bed, Table, Attached toilets and running water, Restaurant with room service etc. However, guests looking for a luxurious travel should consider our Gold or Platinum category trips.

Booking Policies
