Kashmir to Manali road trip is the most sought after road trip among adventure enthusiasts. Day 01: Arrive in Srinagar.
On arrival you will check in at Apple Tree Guest House / Paradise Cabins in Srinagar. In the evening, you are free to explore Srinagar on your own and prepare yourself for the long journey starting the next day.
Day 02: Srinagar- Sonamarg – Kargil (7/8 hours’ drive 204 Kms).
Depart from Srinagar as per road opening timings and spend some time in Sonmarg (2740 meters). After Sonamarg the drive will be on mostly rough terrain which continues till slushy Zojila pass at 3527 meters and also known as gateway of Ladakh. You will continue your drive towards Drass (the second coldest inhibited place in the world). Another two and half hours’ drive will take you to Kargil (2710 meters) which has got its importance after opening the Ladakh for tourists in 1974. Overnight stay will be at Horizon Ladakh Camp / Hotel Greenland.
Day 03: Kargil to Leh 230 Km.
On day three after breakfast you’ll start riding towards Leh. En-route you’ll visit Mulbekh & Lamayuru monastery & Moonlandscape, Namkila & Fatula Passes, Indus confluence and Magnetic Hill & Gurdwara Patthar Sahib before reaching Leh. Overnight stay will be in Green Villa / Hotel Chube / Paul Guest House / Royal Plaza.
Day 04: Leh to Nubra (135 Km / 5 hours).
After breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardong Pass (highest motorable road in the world, 18,380 feet). Arrive at Deskit by afternoon. Rest of the day you are free to explore Deskit, Hunder villages and enjoy camel safari in sand dunes (at own expense). Overnight stay will be at Hotel Snow Leopord.
Day 05: Nubra Valley (local sightseeing) and back to Leh.
As part of cultural tour, after breakfast you'll, visit Diskit & Hunder Villages and monasteries take a stroll around the place to see the life style of people. Drive back to Leh via Khardungla pass. Overnight stay will be in Leh.
Day 06: Leh to Pangong Lake (160 Km / 6 hours one way).
After an early breakfast, visit Shey, Thiksey, Hemis monasteries and Sindhu Ghat and then proceed to Pangong Lake (14,500feet), through Chang la Pass (17,350 feet), which is the third highest motorable road in the world (320 Kms.) Enjoy the beauty of lake on the banks of Pangong while appreciating the changing colors of the high altitude lake. Visit the exact spots where the famous Bollywood movie “3 Idiots” and “Jab Tak hai Jaan” was shot. Overnight stay will be in Pangong at Natures Nest Camp.
Day 07: Pangong Lake to Leh.
After breakfast, travel back to Leh. En-route take a short halt at Changla Pass to enjoy a cup of hot steaming tea. Overnight stay will be in Leh.
Day 08: Leh to Sarchu (244 Kms / 6 to 7 hours).
After an early breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Sarchu via Tanglang La Pass 17,585 feet, which is world second highest motorable road. At Pang you can stop for lunch and continue driving to Lachungla pass, which is perched at 5065 meters. Upon arrival in Sarchu you’ll check into Goldrop Camp / Mulkila Camp for overnight stay. It will also be the coldest night during the whole tour.
Day 09: Sarchu to Manali (230 Km / 8 hours).
Today you’ll start your journey to Manali via Baralacha Pass (4890 meters), Keylong (3350 meters), & Rohtang Pass (3978 meters). Manali, located in the most charming and beautiful Kullu Valley spreads out its charm on either side of river Beas. Kullu was once known as Kulanthpitha, which means the end of the habitable world. Beyond rose the forbidding heights of the Greater Himalayas, and by the banks of the shining river Beas, lay the fabled 'Silver Valley'. The valley runs north to south of Beas River and is 80 kms long and about 2 kms wide. Upon arrival check into Apple Country Guest House / Hotel Himgiri / Manali Villa Cottage for overnight stay.
Day 10: Manali.
After breakfast the tour concludes. Drop to Chandigarh can be arranged. Trip ends!

On roadtrips to Leh and Ladakh, body gets enough time to acclimatize because of gradual ascend. However, Acute Mountain Sickness or AMS can strike anyone.
