  • Day 01: NJP Station / Bagdogra (IXB) Airport - Phuensholing

    Destination: Phuensholing  (167 KM)

    Meet & greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport & transfer to Phuentsholing - The Gateway of Bhutan by Road from India. Phuensholing is a small border town with a small beautiful market in vincinity. Feel free to explore on your own and get ready for the beautiful himalayan drive to Thimphu next day.

  • Day 02: Phuentsholing - Thimpu

    Destination: Thimpu  (164 KM)

    After breakfast, head to immegration office to complete the formalities. Although, Indians do not require visa, but an entry permit is needed to enter Bhutan. Road trip from Phuensholing to Thimpu is long, approximately five to six hours, but it is so beautiful and scenic that you do not feel the stress. There are plently of stops along the way to stretch your legs and get something to eat. Check into hotel and relax. You can also take an orientation walk into town before dinner.

  • Day 03: Thimphu Sightseeing

    Highlights: Tashichho Dzong, Changangkha Monastery, National Memorial Chorten, National Library & Buddha Point

    Destination: Thimphu 

    After breakfast, start your day early and leave for Trashicho Dzong also known as the Fortress of the Glorious Religion. The Dzong is the home of the main secretariat of the Government. The throne of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan, is situated here. Now you'll proceed towards Changankha monastery, the Radio Tower which is one of Bhutan's tallest buildings. Now you will be driven to visit the King's Memorial. The King's Memorial was built in memory of the third king of Bhutan who reigned for three decades from 1952-1972. After paying your tribute to the king, you will visit, the National Library of Bhutan which houses some of the world's most rare and ancient religious manuscripts. Your day will end with a visit to Bhuddha Point it is one of the most happening points in Thimphu. You can get a good overview of the Thimphu valley from the Buddha point. The 51.5 meter bronze statue is three storied with several chapels. One can offer prayers to Buddha, walk around and take a glimpse of the valley. Overnight stay and dinner will be at the hotel.

  • Day 04: Thimphu - Punakha

    Highlights: Dochu La Pass, Chimi Lakhang & Punakha Dzong

    Destination: Punakha  (86 KM)

    Start your Journey to Punakha by way of the Dochu La pass (10,000 feet) and get mesmerized by 300 kms panorama of amazing himalayan peaks. With its circular formation of 108 chortens set against a panoramic backdrop of majestic mountains, the pass is both awe-inspiring and spiritual. Reaching Punakha, you'll visit Chimi Lakhang - a small but famous temple in the center of the golden Punakha Valley, explore the elaborately fortress of Punakha Dzong guarding the southern end of the valley at the confluence of the Pho (male) and Mo (female) Rivers and making this dzong one of the most beautiful in the country.

  • Day 05: Punakha - Paro

    Highlights: Rafting

    Destination: Paro  (127 KM)

    After breakfast, an exciting rafting tour awaits you (at your own expense). Following a short drive you arrive at the river and, after a fully safety briefing, you take to your raft for a ‘soft’ rafting experience down the Pho-Chu (Male River).  This rafting tour is expected to last 2 hours. After lunch you'll leave for Paro. Reach Paro by evening check into the hotel and rest.

  • Day 06: Paro Sightseeing

    Highlights: Kichu Lhakhang, Tigers Nest, Drugyel Dzong

    Destination: Paro 

    After breakfast you'll leave for Kyichu Lhakhang, the seventh-century temple which is also considered the oldest monastery in Bhutan. Now you are all set to visit one of the most holy places which every bhutanese should visit once in their lifetime, set out on a steep hike of 5-6 hours to Taktsang Palphug Monastery, also known as Tigers Nest. It clings to a vertical granite cliff nearly 3,000 feet above the valley floor. Take a deep breath, relax and trek at your own pace. The beginning is like a walk in the woods. Approximately 1/2 of the way up there is a cafeteria where you can stop for a snack, bathroom, rest. Throughout the way you are rewarded with some amazing views. After this spritual treat if time and energy permits you'll be visiting Drukgyal Dzong a fortress and Buddhist monastery, now in ruins, located in the upper part of the Paro. Evening is free to explore Paro on your own.

  • Day 07: Paro - Phuensholing

    Highlights: National Museum, Runping Dzong, Drugyel Dzong, Kharbandi Gompa

    Destination: Phuensholing  (160 KM)

    After breakfast, you'll visit National Museum, housed in an old watchtower near the Rinpung Dzong. Go back in time and witness centuries old collection of thangkas, old statues and other artifacts. After this hitorical you'll be visiting Drukgyal Dzong a fortress and Buddhist monastery, now in ruins, located in the upper part of the Paro. The dzong was probably built in 1649 to commemorate victory over an invasion from Tibet. Have lunch and proceed towards Phuensholing. Enroute you'll visit Kharbandi Gompa, a monastery which is located amongst garden of tropical plants and flowers. The monastery garden provides great views of the Phuentsholing town and the plains of West Bengal. Reach Phuensholing by evening check into the hotel, have dinner and retire to bed.

Silver category for this trip is suited for those who have a low travel budget and plan to spend as less as possible on hotels and transport. The hotel/rooms will have all the essentials like a Bed, Table, Attached toilets and running water, Restaurant with room service etc. However, guests looking for a luxurious travel should consider our Gold or Platinum category trips.
 

Booking Policies

Remaining amount to be paid, 30 days prior to trip start date. Failing so trip will be considered cancelled and cancellation charges will be applicable as per policy.
Cancellation Policies:
No retention charges if cancelled more than 30 days prior to trip start date.
