Itinerary

  • Day 01: Rishikesh – Sari.

Your trek begins from Haridwar / Rishikesh. After breakfast you’ll drive for a good 7-8 hours to reach Sari. The drive, though long is beautiful as you drive along the Ganga, Alaknanda and Mandakani rivers. Enroute you’ll stop at Deoprayag which is another important Hindu site, known for the confluence of two distinct colored Bhagirati and Alaknanada Rivers, which then flows down as the Ganga. In Sari, overnight stay and dinner will be in Guest house at Sari.

    Day 02: Trek Devariyatal - Chopta (3000m) 6-7 hrs.

The trail goes through the dense forest and stays on the ridge all the way to Tali. From here you’ll descend for a while to cross a stream and then climb up gradually to reach Chopta, located in an idyllic setting having beautiful meadows and is surrounded by dense forests.

    Day 03: Chopta - Tungnath (3680m) - Chandrashilla Top (4130m) – Chopta – Rishikesh.

You’ll start early in the morning and climb up to the temple of Tungnath and beyond. Tungnath, one of the Shiva temples is the highest temple in Garhwal and has definitely a certain mystical/religious aspect which is quite based on the spectacular surrounding and views from there. Views which go far beyond the simple "view of mountains". The summit of the Chandrashilla peak provides a breathtaking 360 degree view. Drive back to Rishikesh for the put-in point rafting – Shivpuri. After a comprehensive safety you begin rafting. After day filled with fun and frolic your rafting ends at NIM beach. Trip ends!

Tips, Hints, Precautions

  • 1. If I can’t swim, can I still go rafting?

  • Everyone on commercial rafting trips wears a life jacket or personal flotation device (PFD). Many non-swimmers go on our rafting trips, and they have a great time. Your guide will give you an in depth safety talk before your trip explaining what you should prepare for and do in the event you fall out of the raft. Your guide is professionally trained in whitewater rescue and will work with the rest of your guide team to ensure that you are able to feel comfortable with the whitewater conditions on your trip.

  •

  • 2. How long do we walk each day?

  • Average walking distance is 7- 9 km each day and trekkers complete it in 5-7 hrs. As trek is easy so walking will not be a problem.

  •

  • 3. Which type of shoes should I buy?

  • Good trekking shoes are the most important part of trekking, so trekking shoes –high ankle with good grips will be a decent choice.
